These days, there are many options for watching popular television shows and movies. Although cable programming has been the main choice for the past few decades, the internet has come up with quite a few innovations in recent. It allows users to watch TV on line without a lot of bulky equipment or long wait times.

A popular online video sharing site lets users see all types of movies, videos, and television programming for free. Although it is not a crime to watch these without paying, there are instances where the person who did the uploading violated the user terms. This makes the video unavailable for future viewing.

These days, video sharing websites have an option where users are charged a small rental fee for viewing various movies. Some online merchants have also jumped on this trend but have added television programs. Most of the selections available are a nice mixture of classic shows as well as those from the present.

There are also specialty websites as well as larger ones that have many movie and TV genres to choose from for rental or as a convenient purchase. These may include older programs from the early part of the Twentieth century to current hits made by famous actors of recent. Some offer movies that went straight to DVD along with small budget flicks that may have has a short release time.

The convenience of being able to buy or rent an uploaded movie means not having to get dressed to return it or burn gas. In some cases, the prices are less than what a retailer may charge and certainly less than going to a theater. Unlike some of the free movies found on video sharing sites, they give good audio and the images are clean. There is having to deal with discs that may have been damaged by the previous user.

Though some people stand behind cable TV programming, the downsides include getting fast service as some people have to wait for as long as two weeks for the initial installation. When equipment needs to be replaced, the user has to lug around bulky equipment and wait in a long line unless they go early during the week. Otherwise, they have to deal with crowds.

There is also a matter of billing. Though some debate whether cable television is worth the money, there are many portable devices that can be purchased at most major retailers that cost less than one monthly bill. These allow anyone to watch TV on line from their laptop, mobile device, or most flat screen television sets.
