I was hesitant to bring the Wildfire pepper spray I received from Sammy. My best friend swore it was a lot more reliable at repelling opponents, and he talked from experience. While it is non-fatal just like all pepper sprays, its effects are obviously more intense.

The eyes respond first as soon as exposed to pepper spray. This clamps shut due to pain. A burning feeling onto the skin adds to the discomfort. Breathing is affected, resulting in uncontrollable coughing. All these are momentary reactions, and wear away within less than one hour. Pepper spray doesn't bring about irreversible harm.

I did appreciate the size of my very own pepper spray in the beginning. This is little at 2 ounces and fits within my own pocket, or my hand if I decide to hold it. That means much better handling when I have to fire the spray.

Although it consists of just a few bursts, a little pepper spray provides the added advantage of stunning the attacker as it can be concealed easily.

It was the spray strength that worried me, however Sammy assured me the 18 percent pepper concentration just meant I could spray much less but still have a faster reaction. The higher the pepper formulation, the stronger the Scoville Heat Units (SHU) rating is.

The SHU is a way of measuring precisely how hot the pepper formulation is. When it is within the millions (2 or 3 million), it is not unusual to listen to screams of pain once the pepper grains penetrate the skin.

Even though sprayed on from a range of 10 to 15 feet, the target will feel the total effects of oleoresin capsicum, and is going to abandon any ideas of harming you.

I have trained handling the Wildfire pepper spray, and wish I can be that alert and also fast the minute I need to utilize this to fight off an enemy. Sammy stated to keep in mind that utilizing the spray is designed to buy time so I can run to safety.
